Bournemouth Society for the Visually Impaired

Bournemouth North Rotary Club became involved
in this charity in 2005 and is still continuing to
give support for the foreseeable future.

Fellow Rotarian Terry Wood was a past chairman
for 4 years and is now a trustee along with
Rotarian Chris Chubb.

Butchers Coppice Scout Camp

Bournemouth North Rotary Club are now into our third year of supporting this scout camp. The main projects of  our funding have been to build new toilet blocks and put in new path ways these have also been design to except wheel chairs.

Critical Care Unit The Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospitals

Bournemouth North Rotary Club became involved in this unit last year after one of our fellow Rotarian's son became very ill the previous year. He organised a Rotary Casino Evening which raised £4,770. This was made up to £5,000 by an unnamed donor and  presented by Bournemouth North Rotary to the Critical Care Unit of Bournemouth Hospital.

Cherry Tree Nursery known as the SWOP Project. Sheltered Work Opportunities Project.

This is a registered charity set up to fulfill the great need for sheltered work opportunities for adults living in the East Dorset and West Hampshire area that have experienced some form of mental illness
.

SWOP first started in 1989. Bournemouth North Rotary Club which are twinned with a French Rotary club Chateau Gontier made this a joint project at the beginning of 1990. We gave a cheque for £6.000 to buy in an irrigation system. We are still involved today.

The Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy, Avon Tyrrell, Bransgore, Christchurch, Dorset

This project we became involved in the latter part of 2006. We had a speaker from the centre who came to give a talk about what the centre did. The centre uses horse and horse motivation to help vulnerable people with special needs. Bournemouth North Rotary decided to donate a sum of money for this local project.

Honeypot one childhood one chance

Bournemouth North Rotary Club has just become involved in this Charity.

On Friday 14th January 2011 President Howard Zahl and Fellow Rotarian John Spurgeon presented a cheque for £500 which was raised at Golf in the Dark to Adrienne Noke the Regional Fundraiser.

Also at our Charity Event on 12th February which is the Masked Ball part of the Monies Raised will also go to honeypot.

A further donation of £300 00 was presented by fellow Rotarian John Spurgeon to Adrenne Noke Community and Trust Manager for Honeypot on Monday the 5th December 2011
